The Talk

Author's Note:  I decided to write a short one-shot again, breaking the 4th Wall this time. Sort of having a 'talk' with Grant. It had been written ages ago but I never really finished it, and recently I re-read it, and finished it pretty quickly.  Warnings?:  Not really. It's pretty G-rated, but I'll slap a 'more' link anyway so it doesn't take up the whole page in the list of posts.  An older, grizzled man in his late sixties gazes around in puzzlement. All he could see was fog for miles around him. He glances up above him, voice raspy from disuse, and speaks. "So, where am I anyway? I haven't seen you write anything about me in a long, long time."

Grizzly Science #2: Unlikely Friends (Ch. 11)

Author's Note: Thanks to Bill for his help in getting the beginning parts started! I wanna give thanks to deathklat for his help on this as well! :) Also – Sorry for being a bit late. Enjoy! Chapter 11 Fifteen minutes later, Grant gathered their clothes for tonight's dinner, and bundled them neatly on the chair next to the tall sturdy dresser opposite the bed. He turned around, then leaned back against the wooden drawers. Grant exhaled softly, gazing around the room at the floor for something. "Mmm... now what? Ah. There's your sweats." He knelt halfway down to pick up the sweats, and tossed them to Vince. Vince caught them with one hand then wriggled his feet through the leg holes, with a soft grunt. He managed to get them halfway up his legs, then he glanced at the big bear turning around to rummage through the third drawer from the top. He held his breath as he was treated to the majestic sight of rippling muscle and rounded globes which were spread ap...

X-men: Mutant Awakening (Ch. 9)

Author's Note: Big Thanks to Kindar for helping clean this up! :) Chapter 9 Tad had sat in the Ethics class quietly listening to the class discuss a particular ethical dilemma for the last twenty minutes. To his surprise it actually hadn't been that boring to listen to this time. The Professor studied the group for a moment before speaking. "This may be a silly question, but what did any of you want to do when you grew up before you became a mutant?" He continued after a pause. "What were your hopes and dreams?" Three students shifted uncomfortably in silent embarrassment.

X-men: Mutant Awakening (Ch. 6)

Author's Note: Major Kudos to deathklat again for suggestions, and tips and help on the dream sequence. :) Big thanks to Kindar for being so kind to critique this before I submitted it to another site. :) Chapter 6 Logan walked hurriedly to his room - five doors down. He was trying to relax, but tension had coiled into his muscles after talking to Tad. He gritted his teeth as he threw the door open and nearly slammed it shut after him. He rubbed his face vigorously and snarled, smelling Tad on his hands. He abruptly wiped his hands on his pants in a futile effort to get them free of his scent. "Dammit. What has he done to me?"

Grizzly Science - Ch.12

Chapter 12 Grant tapped at his keyboard, finishing up his work. He was anxious to get the day over with, resisting the urge to peek at the wall clock. He frowned as he mistyped a number, and hit the backspace key, then redid it properly. Grant's hands paused, hovering over the keyboard, as his thoughts wandered to his favorite subject - Brent. It'd been about five or six months since they met, give or take a few weeks. Grant had come to a realization that he had become more optimistic in his views, and suspected it was largely due to Brent's zest for life. It was hard to remain cynical in the red-head's wake. His hands resumed typing in the last of the information, then he straightened up against the chair. He smiled to himself, then clicked the mouse pointer over the "OK" box to save his work.
